Hey, hi, howdy. I’m Derek. A photographer and videographer based in the Yarra Ranges, Victoria.
I’ll photograph just about anything, but portraits of people or animals are where I feel most at home. Years of shooting portraits and events have shaped an approach centred on connection, subtlety, and storytelling. My aim is to deliver high-quality visual work with consistency, care, and a sense of ease and hopefully we can have a laugh or too along the way.
I also have a deep connection to the Yarra Ranges, where I grew up. Most days you’ll find me wandering the bush trails near home, following the way the light moves through the trees or pausing for the small details that often go unnoticed. That connection to the landscape naturally informs my work: open spaces, subtle textures, quiet moments, and a feeling of place.
